I understand a few board members have become concerned over their projects at Newton Firearms. I have made contact with JNewt and relayed that concern to him. He has returned from duties that consumed 50-60 hours of his work week and is now focusing on outstanding work at his shop. If you have a project residing with JNewt and feel you cannot wait any longer, post your board name in this thread. If you want your kit, funds, gun, etc. returned, please post below your name and request that it be returned. If you are comfortable waiting, then respond as such. - Board Name - Please Return Items OR Please Finish Project There is no room in this thread for flames, complaints, etc. Don't inundate him with emails or questions, just let him get on with your projects. He will post updates as he starts or completes your projects. Our concern is for your work to be returned or completed. Thanks, KF |

Me? I'm waiting, not patiently cause when mine are done they are gonna be SWEET! Josh can take all the time he wants to do it right. I spoke to him yesterday, just confirmed to me he is one of the good guys. He was really upset with himself that he let this get out of hand. Too bad he is leaving the business. |

Thank you very much for starting this thread Krink. It will be a great help to me and the owners of kits or rifles that I have. Like Krink stated and like I have done in a few past threads, I got completely covered up with my full time job. As of this week I am back to my normal 3 16 hour shifts and will be hitting the builds hard next week till I complete everyones jobs. I can not express how sorry I am for the lack of communication and delays in builds. I can assure you though that your jobs will be completed soon and finished like you would expect. I have read a few comments about me being a poor business man, yes, I am guility of that. I never was a business man, just a guy who likes to build rifles. I am a honest man however and have nothing to hide. Life happens sometimes and I think things got a little blown out of proportion, which, is understandable as ripoffs on the net are quite common. I can assure you, I am not that kind of guy. Whichever option you guys choose I will honor, be it a refund/return or allow me to complete the job. |

Josh - you and I have emailed/IMed and still need to talk by phone. I'm sending the remaining goods for the Tantal and AKS74 builds tomorrow, but we need to figure out what to do with the AK74M mess. Give me a ring whenever it is convenient for you. I am in no hurry at all. |

Well I have that new SAIGA .308 there Josh. We were both excited to do some trick kind of G3 mag conversion and I wanted it no ban converted also to something wicked. It all depends on what you want to do.....if you are still excited about it, we can go forward. If you aren't and just want to be done with it all, I completely understand and I'll send funds for the return shipment and probably sell it, completely OK with me. If you just want to do the mag conversion, I can have the rest converted elsewhere. I don't have any druthers one way or another, just let me know so we can finally discuss what I owe you. If you want to proceed 100% however I will still need a parts list and time to get the parts to you. I'm in no rush either way, but I don't want to be a burden on you. |

I sent Deposits in Aug. to hold spots for three builds scheduled for Feb. - Mar. 06. I would be happy to wait until then and see where we are. If the builds are out of the question when we reach Feb. feel free to refund then funds at that time. I'm in no hurry - and understand how life throws a curve every now and then. No worries here. tintedtahoe |

UPDATE: Josh - I am shipping the receivers for the Tantal and AKS-74 builds today as well as the wood furniture for the AKS-74 - 10/21. I would like you to send the other parts remaining after those two builds - mostly the stuff for the AK74M - back to me when those are finished. Please phone or email me to work out the details. I'm in no hurry with any of this. RF Huron, SD |
Did Josh change his mind about future work? I thought all deposits were going to be returned to people, and no reserved builds being done? Did I miss something, cause I was scheduled for a couple in November, originally. |
I don't think you missed anything. This is the way I understand it - Josh is returning deposits if he doesn't have your kits in his hands. |
|
I paid a $120 deposit for three builds that were supposed to be done during the last weeks of November and the first weeks of december. Is Josh going to still do my builds? If not when will I get a refund. I would prefer the builds but I want a time line. My paypal acount is [email protected] Thanks |

Follow the instructions on the first post. If you have a project residing with JNewt and feel you cannot wait any longer, post your board name in this thread. If you want your kit, funds, gun, etc. returned, please post below your name and request that it be returned. If you are comfortable waiting, then respond as such. - Board Name - Please Return Items OR Please Finish Project |
KF: you might want to post the information about deposits. The way I understood it, like TravisAasen said, unless he had your kit already, he's not doing the build - people that paid deposits and scheduled future builds are supposed to have their deposits sent back. That way people with deposits aren't posting saying they want their project done, and then sending parts off to Josh or something, just to have him send them back... |
|
Hey Josh, I don't have any kits with you but felt I had to chime in on this one. Just looking at everybody's responses here should tell you that everybody thinks you do excellent work, and the time delays are not a problem as they want the best work done for them, and you appear to be the man! I hope you continue to offer your services in the future! |
+1 I said in another thread that if Josh stays on this board it won't be long until members start to pester him to start building again. I hope he doesn't sell off all of his tools. |
