A quick heads-up:  I just received the latest SOG catalog, and they have .22LR military RPK trainers in unissued condition for $259.95.  They have scope rails, but no bipod.  There is no mention of country of origin.  This might be just the thing for suppressive fire on the squirrels!

they are Romanian .22lr trainers, called AKT-98's, I have the 16" barrel AK version instead of the RPK version, fun rifle, but not worth the money if I could do it again.   Now if they had 30 round mags for it, it would be great.

There are no pictures of the RPK trainer on the SOG website yet.  There is  on in their paper catalog, and It looks like a standard RPK, with the club foot stock & 22" barrel.
