What you see below is my 2005 M92 Yugo Krinkov.

I had an idea, place a rail on top of the thick portion of the receiver for a optics mount.

I cut a piece of plastic rail (I am either going to use aluminum or steel), to see if it will fit on top.
And it does, but how am I going to mount it?
If I could get a rail made of steel, I was going to spot weld it, using light taps with the welder of course, not to get it to hot (warping).
But the steel rails costs a butt-load, and the aluminum rails are cheap and around every corner.

How could I mount this on top securely? Can I rivet it? If I rivet it, is there going to be enough room for
the carrier to work? Do you think I could smash and grind the rivets enough for there wont be any clearance issues?

All of you guys' advice will be greatly absorbed.

here is the pic............... sorry if it is too big for you

Rough up both surfaces and use epoxy.

IMO, leaving it 'as is' without mods will achieve the best investment. If in the event you want/need to sell having it as it's meant to be will result in the greatest return/increase in value.

Doesn't someone make a top cover with a rail already attached?

The 2 part epoxy.  Comes in little sringes.

Plus, before it sets, you'll have a little working time, versus weldiing and finding the mount heat flexed, or riveting and misdrilling holes.

Sure they do and they don't stay zeroed, just like what donovan007007 is trying to do won't stay zeroed. there is a reason why some AK's have a side mount for the optic systems. mmk

Put a side rail on the receiver if you want an optic.  Epoxying that rail will not work.  It'll break loose from recoil eventually and leave behind the glue.  Then you'll have to scrape it off the metal.  I know epoxy can be very strong (such as the situation at hand), but it ain't that strong when you factor in recoil and weight of an optic.

ok...............ok...................ok...............

I am not going to do it, I just want a optic on it. It is a underfolder, so I cant do a receiver mount.

This thing looked interesting to me once, I don't know how reliable it is, but it looks like it would work pretty good....

Dunno about the mount, but I do know that if you're going to buy anything, DO NOT BUY FROM FLORIDA GUN WORKS.  I've not heard one good thing about them.

Thanks for the heads up, I was thinking about getting some misc. bullshit from them, but now I'll keep shopping. Probably at the next gunshow!

The Ultimak upper hand guard scope mount is what I'm going with, personally.
