Does changing the ammo weight affect the zero on a rifle. For example I recently zeroed my slr105 using 70 gr 5.45, now if I change to a smaller weight such as wolf 62 gr or even a 59 gr, will the point of impact be different. BTW I zeroed at 25 yards with 3 shot groups that consistently touched each other using a Kobra.

@25 yards I doubt you'd notice. At longer ranges it will mess with the zero. Lighter weight will shoot high.

You'll probably have to shoot at least 100 yards before you notice a difference.

Keeping the weight the same and change brands of ammo can change the zero.

If ya wanna get technical so can differing lot numbers of the same brand, and the outside temp, and wind, and whether its from a clean bore or dirty......

I zero at 25 because thats as far as the indoor range would allow. Outside I can't really tell how far I am shooting when I place my targets and to lazy to even attempt at trying to figure it out. I just compensate as I go along. Also elevation is not as important as windage to me. Man size targets can be around six ft tall but only about 2 ft wide
