| Hey all, I have been toying with the idea of trading my Krink for an RPK. Does anyone have pics of theirs? I would love to see some. Thanks |
We're gonna need more pics on Monday! That looks sweet... Can you post all the important info on it - I see the Greenlight receiver and I will venture a guess that it is one of the recent Romanian kits... Spooky |
The horror! |
| Maybe on Tuesday, depends on how busy my store is. Supposedly it is the first RPK built on a greenlight receiver, said to be number 2. It is an all matching Romanian Kit in VG condition with the required US parts. I have Romanian and Chinese drums for it and several Romanian 40 rounder mags as well. |
The build is a couple years old - OOW was the best option at the time... Spooky |
Vepr dude! You could pay for that just by selling the mag and stock set, downgrading to the orange mag and wood set... Could still pay for those to. |
Nice rifle dude ... My kits are not shot out tho ................. |
Alot of the RPK kits that were sold from center fire did not hove good bores or were shot out.. If you got a good one great.. but alot of people didnt.. its been posted on other forums where some of the kits had little or no rifleing left in them.. |
Hmmm... I think I hate you... Make the bad thoughts go away!!! I don't need a Vepr, I don't need a Vepr, I don't need a Vepr... Maybe in the future... Oh, I could have bought the Vepr if I didn't buy so much stuff from you!!! Spooky |
Hehehe, I am of course with Stott on this one.... OOW has *never* been the best option! Aside from that though, I think you have the best RPK in the thread ;) -C |
PLum stock set- $300 Plum mag- 300 total- $600 Vepr- $550 left- $50. |
Leave me alone!!! The plum stock set is a US one that came with the kit, I highly doubt it was $300 for that alone. The plum mag... well, that found its way home with me a while after I had it built. Besides, that was my second AK... But, I have to admit that you got me thinking about the Vepr now... Maybe after my AK104 is done... Spooky |
The stock set is actually Russian made, except for the pistol grip.. You can get a pretty penny for them now, especially since K-var dried up.. |
Oh My! That is beautiful! SM |
Why? Why? Why is Stottman torturing me??? Spooky |
Well, I stopped by Templar's shop today and was informed that the RPK was there. Good...but wait there's more...there is some rust, said Templar....WHAT?!?!?! Well there was some surface rust on the gas block, not too bad though. Other than that it looked sort of OK except for the bipod, it was too lose and would not hold parallel to the barrel. I cycled the action and it was smooth. I looked inside the barrel and it was fine. I did not pick it up today so I cannot post a complete review, but I can say that it needs some work to be all I want it to be. Also, Cleaning rod was a regular AK rod. Sees like this RPK will need a new Russian bipod from k-var as well as a US-made thread protector, as I will not keep the slant break on it, I already have the RPK cleaning rod so this is no biggie. Other than that the parkerizing is ok (except for the surface rust on the gas block), but wil be replaced by enamel finish by Chris at AK-USA as soon as I can send it to him. Receiver does not have selector stops or S/F markings which is great as I can engrave cyrillic markings on it. Wood was acceptable but not great and it will be replaced by NEW russian set I already have |
