What do you all think would be the market price for a pre 89 Norinco underfolder in excellent condition?  Don't know yet if it has the spike bayo (or if Norincos had the spike).  My nephew's friend at his work wants to sell the rifle and the price seems right.  Thanks in advance fellas.

Extremely ball park figure with the info you gave is ~$700 or so.

Thanks Templar.  Don't know much about the rifle yet except an email from my nephew saying it was a pre ban with bayo, 500 rd ammo, 3 30s and a soft case.  Hope to get some pics from the guy soon.

No problem.

Polytechs had the spike bayo, Norinco's had separate bayonets.  There were also some other Chinese rifles that weren't stamped Norinco but basically were, like Prochine and some imported by SILE in NY.

Clayco were the first Chinese imported, my first AK as a matter of fact was an underfolder Clayco.

Have you found much difference shooting the sloping Chinese underfolder vs the straight European UF?  Thanks again.

The straight drop that the European AKM stocks have is very uncomfortable to me, I much prefer the older AK-47 underfolder stocks with much more drop to them.

I have had both Hugarian and currently a Yugoslavian underfolder with the straight struts, and I have to tilt the rifle to my left a little when I mount the rifle, otherwise forget it.

The older AK-47 underfolder style allows a better "cheek-weld", and is at least a whole lot more comfortable..............for me
