[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Ak question (AMD 65)

I have an AMD 65 built on an ohio ordnance rec. It was built before the ban lifted, so it has a solid stock. I would like to get a galil or a krink. style. My rec. is not cut on the side for a folder. what would I need and what could i get. Thank in advance.

if you've got a regular wood stock, then a romanian side folder would just drop right on in. same with the ACE side folder. the krink style takes a lot of work to get to fit.

The stock I have looks just like the AMD but it is solid. It is not a folder.

oh

thats going to take some work any way you look at it. the best place to find a stock would be to watch the AK equipment exchange, stuff pops up often but you've got some people with quick fingers and more money than common sense to compete with.

Why would it be so hard to change to a different stock. What I would like is some kind of stock that is short or could fold. Is there a stock that can fold with out the rec. cut?

does this stock attatch with a standard AKM tang? pics would help a lot

don't have pics. I'll try to explain if I can. it looks like a amd 65 single thick wire stock. trunnion has four screws two on each side. with dust cover off the inside looks kind of like a square block. the screws (if looking at the left side are at the 1oclock and 6oclock.) the rec. has ITM Arms Co. model mk 99 7.62 cleveland ohio made in usa. does that help any at all? I know it maybe hard with out a pic. but that is the best i can do. thanks

sounds like it is a folder just pinned or welded open. is there a screw on the bottom behind the grip? also is it a screw build or rivet build? i have a functioning folder if you want to email me i can help you figure it out. email is [email protected]

email sent. I think it might be a folder that is welded or something but my rec. is not notched. I does have to be notched for a folder does'nt it.
