Hey fellas, here is my latest project. This is a build that I did for a friend of mine. Here is the OOW reciever that I have just finished cutting the rear trunion for all the underfolder hardware. I used tape to make a rough template off of the rear trunion. Test fit of the front and rear trunions with the top cover installed to get the measurments right. Marked and trimmed the rear of the reciever, then installed the rear trunion and set the tape template in place and started cutting.   Here is the front trunion rivited in place, I used masking tape to pad the rivet heads to prevent marring, it seemed to work well.  Here is the rear trunion installed with the underfolder in for a test fit.  To prep the reciever for finish I used a metal prep from home depo. I sanded the reciever and buffed out all the tooling scuffs. then applyed Gunkote matt black per instructions. The wood was stripped and then stained finished out with semi gloss polyurithane.  Here is the reciever, and that infamous OOW selector lever gap...   This is a Romanian AK 47 kit that I got off of the EE, and then I picked up a Yugo underfolder stock complete off the EE, they went together quite well I think.  Here she is with the stock folded and a Bulgarian 30 rnd waffle inserted...  Hope that you fellas enjoyed the pic's, Mark. |
Hey fellas, thanks for all the replys. I had to come down to NC for a month so I havn't been able to check up on the replys, thanks for all the cool replys. The kit is a standard Romy 47, and the underfolder came from a Yugo kit. take care fellas, I'll be in the wind tunnel all next week....he he he
