Help me out, folks!

I need to ship 3 rifles to a smith for some work, but I can't find suitable boxes (length, durability, etc.).

It's been suggested that I put them in those hard plastic cases like Bushmaster rifles come in, and while those are durable, they kind of advertise that there's a rifle in them.

Any ideas??  If I have to buy the boxes online, and have them sent to me, so be it.

Thanks!!

CHRIST - Don't use the hard plastic case!  Nice idea, but advertises that your sending expensive contents.  I've done it twice - bith times proved disastorous.

Ok, on to what works for me.  I send quite a few off each month.  repairs/sold etc.

I like to break the weapon down to as SMALL as it will go.  IE.  break the AR into the halves , fal into halves, etc.  AK's I will send as is or fold them if a folder is present.

Next I wrap everything in bubble wrap.  twice around at least.

I then cut a box to work or use a box I already have.  I use a box again that doesn't SCREAM assault weapon inside..  Go small.  I then place the gun with bubble wrap into the box and soround it with crumpled up newspaper which will act like shocks.  Keep a roll of plastic shipping tape handy.

I have NEVER had a problem with this method.

You could use some large PVC pipe. Take off the grip and it will fit inside pretty nice. I sent my AR upper once to Bushmaster and they said they loved my idea.

4 foot strip light boxes work very well.  How many do you want? If you pay postage I'll send you as many as you want.
