So I went to the gun show here in New Mexico and care accros some "Silver Bear " ammo . I have never seen it .
Any thoughts on it ?
Good stuff? , Avoid it?

And is it true that 7.62x39 is currently out of stock?

it is good stuff.
and I'm sure that some stores somewhere happen to be out of stock on 7.62x39 but I have yet to see any shortages out my way.

Very good ammo without the case coatings that can melt off of the cases such as wolf and end up on the inside of the receiver. The silver bear match can produce some good groups in the right rifle. It is just about the only stuff I shoot anymore.

The shortage of 7.62x39 seems to only be happening with Wolf.
Theres alot more Russian 7.62x39 ammo out there than Wolf on the market.

Isnt that a thing of the past with the polymer coated wolf?

no coating on wolf any more or at least i havent seen it in a whisle.....and silver bear is in my opinion almost equal to wolf, which is just fine for me.

If memory serves it's made by Barnaul which is good stuff....

I've used 3k of the stuff so far and almost all of that was full-auto.  No problems at all and it is some nice looking ammunition.  The six cases I have shot burned cleanly also.  The distributor I purchase it from sells it in a 500rd case.

Good question but unless it's the same polymer they make Glock frames from I'd think it cooks off and goes somewhere. Anyone know for sure?
