Anyone know if their made. How much they cost, and where do I get one. I saw that southern ohio guns has a trainer AK-22 but this is the first time that I ever seen one.

I have one of them....the AKT-98's.  I have to say I like it a lot.  I have about 750 rounds through mine now.  I'll do a quick review.

Appearance: looks like an AK.  Mag releases the same way, safety is the same, sites are the same.  It has black synthetic furniture, not high quality.  I find that on the fore stock, if you squeeze the furniture, it bends in.  Not like wood furniture.  It field strips the same way as it's big brother: take off the dust cover, remove recoil spring, remove "bolt carrier stop", bolt carrier, and your done.

Accuaracy: is pretty good.  I've not shot for groups, but I can easily take pop can sized targets and smaller all day shooting the cheapest .22 ammo I can find (currently Winchester Wild Cats).  I did put on a Mojo aperature site.  Front site adjusts the same as a standard ak.  Also, the rifle has a side rail mount, so optics are an option too.

Magazine:  The rifle uses a cut down 20 round mag as the host.  It has a plastic insert that holds a very chincey plastic 10 round mag.  This is the flaw in the design.  I have 7 of the 10 round mags.  I can not load 10 rounds in any of them, I only load with 9.  The recoil spring is very poor, as is the floor plate on the plastic 10 round mag.  2 of the mags I have did not work (the plastic 10 round mags were broken when I received).  I modified host mag and shell to use a Marlin 10 round stick mag, and that works great.

All in all I like it a lot.  I enjoy shooting .22 rimfires, and this certainly is a blast to shoot.  I like the rifle itself.  There is a break in period of about 500-600 rounds, but after that it sort of smooths out and runs nicely.  I wish I could get larger capacity mags.  I haven't checked into the Ciener mags to see if they would work or not.  For ~$350, it is a fun plinker.

I have one also, that I recently acquired. I've had it about 3 weeks, and have put maybe 500+rds through it.

I LOVE IT.

I've determined that it's a little picky about ammo, but once I found 2 brands it liked, it ran without a hiccup.

I agree w/Brad76 about the furniture, which is why I replaced mine w/a set of Bulgarian polymer furniture. Just need to swap the gas block and add a Bulgy FSB.

As far as the mag problem, I have 6, and have no real problems loading 10rds. You just have to finesse that last one in.

I give it a BIG thumbs-up, and would recommend one to anyone.
