Have shot a friends pre-ban Norinco fixed stock with Wolf 122gr FMJ and Silver Bear Match 122gr FMJ and 5 shot groups at 100 yards from a benchrest run around 6"-8" and group in a nice circle.
My new armoryUSA AK is so inaccurate that it cannot even be sighted-in,  using the same ammo 5 shot groups at 100 yards from a benchrest run around 3 to 4 FEET with all the shots wildley scattered-I am very disappointed to say the least. Trigger pull is O.K. and it cycles perfectly. I realize this is a AK and don`t expect benchrest accuracy but this is totally unacceptable. The slant break is pinned and brazed on so I can`t inspect the muzzle crown. The bore is mirror bright, and since the cases from the many brands I`ve tried in it show no seperation signs I believe the headspace is not excessive.
I can`t find anything glaringly obvious with the rifle that shows why it is so inaccurate-I`ve really lost interest in it because I grown so frustated with it. My only alternative is to send it back to the manufacturer (which will cost me shipping both ways per the warranty statement) and see what the manufacturer can do with it (came from Global Trades) I`m afraid that will turn into a dead end with me saying it doesn`t shoot accurately enough and the manufacturer saying it shoots well for them.
I haven`t contacted Global yet-I`m wondering if anyone might have any thoughts as to what the fault might be-am I missing something obvious?

Get your money back, buy another AK. Ak's should be able to hold 2-4 inch groups at 100 yards. Depending on what AK you shoot.
Sorry to hear you got a lemon.

Doesn't sound like a lemon to me. Sounds like it's on par with what ArmoryUSA (Global Trades) is selling these days. Return it for a refund, and get a Arsenal Inc. rifle.

I have owned about 5 or 6 AKs now and the average groups are about 5 to 9 inches @100yrds
I have only seen an SAR2 get 2 in groups at 50yrds once
have seen alot of AKs shootung at the range and most of their targets are set at 50 yrds and the groups are never too good

I would love to see all those who say they get 2 inch groups at 100yrds with an AK especially with the standard sights. If anyone claims to shoot 2 inch groups @100 yrds please proove me wrong.
Im in Northern NJ - E-mail me and I'll meet you at the range.

Me with my eyes no way 2-4 inch groups with Iron Sights. But i have seen a bunch of pics here posted with people getting good results with some kind of scope (POSP, etc) on their AK. That is why I have a POSP in my AK and the irons sighted in to 50 yards...

As far as consistant accuracy I would say that four to five inches is good for most AK clones. I have a Hungarian postban that has given me groups of five that were under three inches, but not regularly, normally it is around four-5 inches. My Romanians can do about 6-7 inch groups regularly. Keep in mind that I am not much of a marksman, and rarely do I actually take much effort to shoot for accuracy.

All of my AK's are 7.62X39. With my AR's I have no problem getting two to three inch groups using decent ammo, and under two inches using good ammo. All of this shooting is with open original sites. I have had somewhat better results using a Russian side mounted scope on the Romanian rifles, but it really didn't make that much of a difference in accuracy, just consistancy.

I have no doubt that some of the exotic AK variants such as the Valmets and probablly the Galils can do much better, but the regular "AK" clones are just not precision rifles.

Groups measured in feet sounds like something bad wrong to me.  Just about gotta be a bad crown or maybe a screwed up gas port hole in the barrel monkeying with the bullets as they're fired.  I suppose the rounds could be hitting the slant brake but it's so short and easy to inspect I find it hard to believe you wouldn't have noticed something there.

I'd definitely send that thing back, if it's really shooting 3+ foot groups there is no way Global won't agree something is majorly off...

3 years I had a guy try to sell me an AK like that.

It would shoot a 3 foot group at 50 yards.

It left me with the impression that all AKs are like that... and it has kept me from buying an AK until just recently.

They are not all like that.

I finally bought my first AK 2 weeks ago, a cheap Romanian.

This Romanian will put 10 rounds in an 8 inch circle at 100 yards using iron sights only, off a bench with a rest.

I'm guessing that with a scope and sand bags it will do even better.

Get a Romanian GP WSAR-10 Hi-Cap, you'll love it.

It's the best cheap gun ever made.

Check headspace, check the slant for signs of impact. Try one more time since you may have had a bad trigger finger hitch, etc (I know accurate rs39 does not always show up at the range...). Otherwise dump it and move on.

Plateshooter had to send his back to them twice for other things, but at least it groups well.

Per the manufacturer when I called today, 2-4MOA is what they said they expect from their rifles-have made arrangements to send mine back for repair or replacement.
Mr. Streetman at armoryUSA said that my accuracy complaint was not acceptable with the quality of rifles they want to maintain.
They are sending me a pre-paid shipping label for my return, very nice and polite on the phone and seemed determined to make it right-
I can`t ask for more than that-will have to give them a chance to make it good.
Will report on the outcome.
Thanks for everyone`s input.
