I am thinking about one of the Yugo kits Centerfire Sys has and want to know how hard it is to put one together?? I see alot of you guys have done it. Any special tools needed?? |
No one has done it yet since the kits are just beginning to hit the market, and there aren't any suitable receiver for them, YET. Harlan at FAC is going to offer both 80% and 100% receivers for them. The Yugoslavian AK's take a RPK heavy receiver, very different from a standard European (Russian) styled stamped receiver. |

This is a quoted email I got from Ohio Ordnance today about their receivers used on Yugo kits. "We've discovered the best solution is to modify by narrowing the trunion to fit the receiver. The Yugo trunions are way over designed and due to the fact you will not be launching grenades or firing full autos you do not need the additional material on the trunion. Our receivers will work well after machine modifying the trunions." OOW I tend to agree. |

The receiver for the Yugo M70 AK kits that 'Templar' refers to is NOT an FAC project. I am a lead member of the group working on the receiver but it will NOT be distributed by FAC. Contact me at [email protected] if you are interested. Thanks. Harlan |
