What are the pros and cons of using the double hook VS the single hook trigger?

Can I use the double hook trigger on the SAR-2?

Thanks

Double hook = less trigger slap.

Not unless you cut a second notch in the reciever in front of the trigger.

They are both good triggers some people prefer double and some prefer single but I think its more a matter of opinion. You can put a double in a single hook receiver but it will take very slight modifications.

My WASR required a little notch at the bottom of the receiver to allow for the G2 double hook.

Only reason I went with the double hook is that my gunsmith had one sitting around and I am the sort of person that really doesn't care as long as it works.

Apparently, the double hook was engineered so that if under abusive battle conditions, one hook failed, the soldier would still have a weapon that would fire with the remaining hook.

I think that is the only difference.

Originally all used a double hook trigger, but when the AKM came out the trigger was made single hook, because the other side was occupied by components of the "rate reducer". When this trigger was modified for semi-auto only fire, you got the single hook trigger.
In my experience most people seem to think that the double hook triggers do have a nicer feel. This may be more of a quality issue than design difference. Most of the US made cast trigger components are junk.
