I just got an awesome .223 Norinco 84S from Old Troop and I took off the flash hider to inspect the bore and check it out. The pin that holds the flash hider on (the spring loaded assembly in the front site) won't come back out. I have tried bangin and tapping, no luck.
Any ideas?

Try to gently twist it a bit.  The pin is oriented so that it must be lined up properly with the forward FSB pin in order to slide in/out.

Spray some WD-40 around the pin, let it soak in for an hour, then tap the FSB and see if it comes out.

If not, then drive the front FSB pin out, spray some more WD-40, and then get an 90 degree angle scribe and work it out from the inside.

Ron, Ive got a AK that the same thing has happened to, my NHM90....of course it was seated all the way down before I cut the barrel ext. off and it could pop out...its stuck in again. Ive had the flash hider off the gun you got and never had a problem with the pin on that gun...it always popped out. Fire it a few times and it should pop out . Be sure to oil it a little first and then again after it pops out. Let me know if that works for you. Heres a link to a diagram of the pin setup.

I'll try firing it a few times, first chance I get.
Thanks for the advice.
If that doesn't work, i'll try start taking things apart. It's not broken, just stuck.
