I bought a Century Arms International WASR-10 this weekend and on my first range trip it failed to load the first round of a magazine different three times. The bullets after the first round would load find, without a single jam. After further inspection it looks as though I don't have a feed ramp, but rather a feed block. The bullet simply jams at the feed ramp and locks open the bolt. This failure happened the first 3 times I loaded a 20 round mag into the chamber, and never happened after that. Is this something that usually happens with these rifles? I guess it's time to play the waiting game to see if it happens again this weekend. Also, the problem did not happen with the 30 round clip, which leads me to believe that the 20 round clip might be faulty. Any help would be great. |
Is it the same MAGAZINE that was in during all three failure to feeds? (Not a CLIP, it's a MAGAZINE ) And it happened when you cycled it manually right? It could be the mag, and sometimes it happens if you don't pull the bolt handle back far enough or don't let it go quick enough ie: slap it back and slip off so it does it's own thing after reaching the rearward most position of travel. She's still breaking in, so buy some more ammo and mags, take her out and shoot the heck out of her. I have a feeling it'll be fine._______________________________ Dirty deeds....done dirt cheap

| Mags are tightest when full, and the AK may need the side rails/carrier to smooth in. The carrier may not be going fwd as hard as it should be, there could be a hangup under the 20rnd mag feedlips, or it could be something else... Sounds like an issue that will break in OK for now. |
