[ARCHIVED THREAD] - hand guard

so when I shoot my top hand guard twists to one side or the other and is bitch to make it right again when the rifle is all hot... I know that you just turn the hand guard to take it off the rifle but is it supposed to do this? can I just replace it or is it a bigger problem than that? by the way I don't think it matters but my rifle is an SAR-1

sounds like the metal clip inside the guard is missing or it just flat to short, get another one on the EE and give it a try.
