Right, 922R forbids it, among other laws. However, we could in theory receive kits from Russia. The key is going through all the paperwork and regulatory hurdles. I don't think Izmash is interested in selling us chopped up AK-74Ms/-101s, etc. Thank heaven for the Bulgarians. Saigas just don't do it for me.

I have trained on the UZI, MP% and Colt SMG's. I have never even seen a Bison in person. None the less, based on my experience and research, I beleive that the Bison is probably about the best SMG on the planet right now. However, the likely hood of a civillian semi-auto version being imported from Russia is right around nill. The only thing I see being posible would be a US made version. I see this as very doable but aslo highly unlikely (unfortunately).

In particualr, I see the bison as a very capable and direct competitor with the FNP90, particualrly if chambered in the 7.62x25mm (and usisng AP rounds) as is available. In some ways I wish that Russia had re-adopted the 7.62x25mm instead of going with an AP 9x19mm loading (they are using 9x19mm NATO now but with an AP load).

I don't think you could be more wrong mao.. the Russian arms industry is hurting, and they would do anything for a buck..

Even if they would not sell kits, we could buy them as complete weapons. ship them to this country, were they would be stored in a bonded customs warehouse. Destroy them in said bonded warehouse, and import the kits from the warehouse..

This is how mostly all of the parts kits you have ever bought are done.

Now, who can say GROUP BUY???

The Russians seem to have some sort of internal law against selling this kind of stuff to the civilian end market these days.

Even in countries where MGs are allowed (like Switzerland, Finland, etc) to be imported, all the Russian guns come from a third country like Bulgaria or Israel. All the Russians sell direct are Saiga and Vepr variations.

The same holds true for magazines, bayonets, anything dealing with a military weapon.
