How long can you keep Romanian drums loaded? Does it really hurt the coilled spring?

No prob, but if still worry, get chicom and twist the spring tensioner key just before you use them.

I already have the Romanian and I was just wondering, because I've seen people say that they only crank the key on the chicom ones before they use them. I couldn't see from the inside design how it could possibly hurt the spring to keep it wound up.

Keeping the spring compressed will not hurt the spring.
