What would be a fair price on a new or slightly used Romak 3? With or without optics? I'm in the market for one - have an AR15 or Tikka T3 to trade for one - and don't want to get ripped off. The prices on gunbroker and auctionarms seem to be out of whack. |
| They are. SOG has new ones for less. $495 for iron sights, $595 with scope. I have noticed on all the gun auctions that the starting prices are high in many cases. I have literally watched the same items being relisted for more than two years. What are they thinking? Why would you pay $600 for a used Romak III with no guarantee or return when you can get a new one for the same from a real storefront dealer? |

There is a lot of posturing about factory vs kit Romaks, but the Romanians are not Lords of Quality Control and I found my build pretty easy last Sat. $300 parts, $115 rec, some rivets and a friends shop tools. I'd have your dealer order one with optics, then wait and see if you'd rather part with one of the other guns. I'd keep the Tikka.... |
