Where can I get a scope mount put on my AK receiver.  I am not the do it yourself type as far as AK's go and need information as far as who does that kind of work.

Are there different types available, and where would I look for that kind of information.

Are asking for a side rail, or a bracket that reaches from the side rail to the top of the gun?

I am looking for information on where to get a side rail put on. Preferably by a reputable gunsmith that deals with AK's on a regular basis if not exclusively

Then probably InRange, ORF, or Chris at AK-103.com  are your best choices.
If you hope for local, try the hometown forum but I know of none in CO.

I know guys in Colorado who do AK work, but I don't know if any of them have ever put on a rail. And I wouldn't want to be anyone's first job.

Post in your hometown forum. I'm sure someone will recommend a good gunsmith for you. That's what I did for the same reason.
Good luck!

Wether he is local or not is not a concern a I would ship anywhere if I could count on the work being done correctly.

Here's a mount and rail  http://www.freedomoptics.com/Comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=141

I don't think I'd attempt to put a rail on myself, but a good gunsmith could do it no problem.  I like this mount because it is low profile.  I'm going to try one out on my new WASR.
