I came across this pic you posted on Militaryphotos.net and wondered if you can post some detailed images of the receiver, the markings on it and the booster of the 105
Thanks!

Kev,

You can find good pics of the booster HERE

I'd like to see some of the receiver details as well!

I have already chopped that one up, so I cant take anymore pics. I will see what ones I have though, and will post them here.

If it makes you feel any better, I will be using the parts to build a semi clone when I return to the US.

Here are the few pics I have-
It came from the factory with the triangle folder;

I just checked my harddrive, and thats pretty much all I have.

The markings are simply a serial number stamped on the trunnion. There is no arrow in triangle marking.

The selector is marked similar to this pic-

Except it was marked AK-105.

My wall of deact AKs prior to chopping them-

As for getting more and chopping them up, there is not much usable on these. The top cover, stock set, recoil spring, flashhider/booster and gas tube are about the only usable parts. Most of the AK74/100 series deacts are specially made deacts and have solid gas blocks. I did manage to get a factory new short 100 series block from Russia though. Its the one featured on Tantal's webpage.

Cool, that receiver pic is what I really wanted to see. The dimple shape and that it has the xtra rivet like the Saiga.
Did it also have a solid barrel? Anyway to get some more boosters?  What does a deact cost in Germany?
Thanks.

Yes, like a Saiga. Some of the Saigas in .223 on the German market are starting to show up with dimples as well. If the new US importer imports them this way, it would make a great conversion.

Yes, this one has a solid barrel as this was built from the ground up as a deact/dummy. Others that started as live guns have the chamber filled with weld, caliber sized wholes drilled just past the chamber, and a weld rod welded in the rest of the barrel.

Boosters I will look into. It will be awhile though, as nothing goes quickly with Russians.

This one I actually got for free, as payment for labor. As I recall, they are less then $150 in Russia.
