I was wondering what caliber do most ak people go for. Say you have the same rifle in 223, 762x39 ans 5.45 which one would you pick? providing this would be your first AK

7.62, its a classic and the most common rifle/ammo/magazine in the world. cheap rifle/ammo/mags, without a doubt the most reliable setup evermade. basically all parts will interchange. if you can only have one this is the way to go.

5.45 is second, due to being not quite as common. just as reliable, zip for recoil, cheap rifle/parts/mags/ammo. more accurate more range.

.223 rifles vary too much, mags/parts do not interchange and reliablity is an issue with some. as covered above.
