I have some extra AMD 65 trunions and folders one already installed on a bent up Tapco flat with the triggerguard, and fire control group already installed. Could I just install the 74 front end on and have a functioning 74?

short answer is yes.

It would all still have to be put together properly. I usually install the rear trunion last so I can space it off ot the dust cover. The front trunion really should be placed first to fit and hold the mag properly.

Also there is a diffference in the position of the ejector for sure and the inner rails are also possibly wrong. There are difference in the receivers from a 47 to a 74, but a amd-65 rear trunion will fit in either.

I have been using the holes already in the tapco flats and they have lined up pretty closely on my AMD builds but I dont have a 74 trunion handy to compare them to. I saw a build in the build it your self section where he used a Tapco flat and it lookes like the front trunion holse will line up. I expect there to be plenty of fitting work but Im not to worried about that. I might just put one together this way untill I can get some more receivers made up.
