No, it's not common at all.

What part of VA are you in?

Arsenal will fix your rifle.....call them and get an RA and send it back.

Sorry to hijack but I've got a question.
Is this the Arsenal that's out of Las Vegas? If so, how much are they running for a 7.62 underfolder? I saw a milled one with a slant brake  for about $1100 the other day. I'm not planning to buy it I was just wondering. Thanks.

I sold my Arsenal milled underfolder with the long flash suppressor for $1350 last week.

You might be able to find one for less than that though.

Why does it have to be another Arsenal USA rifle? You don't think Arsenal Inc is capable of doing lousy work?

Fluke, are you talking about an Arsenal Inc (Nevada) or Arsenal USA (AKA Global Trades) rifle?

Because Global is usually the ones putting out crapp like this.  Arsenal Inc has a very solid reputation and their QC is lightyears ahead of Global.  It would be nice if Global was a good company, being that they are local for me, but they are not.  Their product sucks, period.  Don't take my word for it, ask Underdog and Murdoc, all three of us have been stung by Global lately.

Call Arsenal Inc. at  1 888 539 2220 and they should issue you a Return Authorization # (RA).

Box it up and send it back to the address they give you.

Did you buy this from Dark Sun?

It's very unusual for an Arsenal Inc. product to have an issue like that, but it does happen.  Anything made by man is fallible.

They should take care of you.  It is fixable.

Good luck and keep us updated.

BrianNH:
It may be news to some, but many people confuse Global Trades with Arsenal Inc. of Nevada.

Something being wrong with *any* firearm is not earth shattering news.  That said "...doing lousy work" is something COMPLETELY different.  Consistancy is the key and Arsenal, Inc. turns our consistantly well made rifles.  Global Trades does "lousy" work with alarming regularity (complete shit in fact).

Fluke:
Any picks crooked front sight?

True, that is why I always ask this before betting, guessing, or making assumptions

Arsenal is capable of putting out a nice rifle. Over the past couple of years, I have purchased more than several of their rifles beginning with their first ones (S/N's under 30). Quality was outstanding. My most recent purchases, a SAM 5, and a couple SLR105's showed a drastic downturn in quality ranging from canted front sight posts (FSB was tapped wrong), I had this on two of my rifles., to improperly fitted FCG's, lower handguards rattling because the lever couldn't engage the notch in the barrel because it was cut too deep.

Anyone can make mistakes, but what I find unnaceptable is when I call Arsenal and they "insist" the front sight post is "in spec". Guess what I did? I paid to have it fixed.

I called arsenal again on a 105a1 with other issues. I spoke with George. His first words were "we didnt even build the rifle" Getting a RMA was a real pain. Guess what I did? I paid to have it fixed as it was less of a hassle. I emailed Greg at arsenal a month ago regarding my dissatisfaction and got no reply.

I am not so quick to assume or guess who the builder of a firearm is when someone says they are having a problem because there are others having problems too.

I was unaware Global Trades was turning out total crap. The last I knew, people were giving their left nut to have one of their SSR-85B's and C's. I guess I haven't been keeping up.

We all have our axes to grind.  Mine is against Arsenal USA, a.k.a Armory USA, a.k.a. Global Trades, your  beef is clearly with Arsenal, Inc. Nevada.

In getting ripped off and bent over by a manufacturer I'm going to do 2 things for sure: Let other folks know about it and spend my money elsewhere.   I don't blame you for being pissed about the quality of your Arsenal AK if you had to pay out of pocket to have factory defects repaired.

In the future post pics here on the forum and share your experience with others.

BTW: Making an assumption about this post being another shit rifle from Global is A-OK in my book.  Just another ourlet for to say how insanely awful their products are.

I have a SSR 85B . Its a Polish AKM rifle built on a Hungarian FEG reciever. It's beautiful. Slant brake .. I mean Sweeet. But one thing..... The damn Rivet job is done by someone who had not a clue to what they was doing. Fact... Im going to get Inrange to re do it in time. It's sloppy and terrible. Crooked , not fully done... I mean bad.......But a very sweet rifle..... WarDawg

Im not trying to be an a-hole to you, I'm sure you got a reason to be pissed. I just want people to know that Arsenal Inc isn't the "be all end all".

As prices increase on these production AK's, I'm beginning to be more of a believer in custom builds by reputable places such as Krebs, and AK-USA.

Agreed on that.  So much for AK's being the all about "Bang for the buck"...  Yet coming from the AR side of the fence I'm used to it.
