| Remove the top cover, recoil spring, and bolt/carrier. Then lift the lever on the right side of the rear sight base. This will allow the gas tube to be removed. You will then see a small lever on the hand guard retainer. Rotate it 180 toward the muzzle. You can now push/tap the retainer toward the muzzle and the guard will pull free. |
