Just wanted to say hi, you guys have a great site here. I've been surfing in the back ground for a few weeks and deceided to sign up.

I have included a couple of family photos, (if I did it right), one is my new WASR I got for christmas and the other is my Russian SKS I bought about 12 years ago, I was a pre-Clinton FFL holder at the time.

Ya, that stock on the WASR is smaller than the stock on my son's bb gun, I thought about replacing it with somthing longer like an Ironwood, any suggestions?

If you find that it is uncomfortable to shoot due to the purposefully short design of the buttstock, you can cheaply add a rubber buttplate that extends the stock out a few inches.

They're widely available.

That's the inexpensive way.

I tried it and took it back off. I'm 6'-0", 210 lbs and still liked the short stock, although it does take a slight bit of getting used to at the very very first. After a few rounds, I sort of liked being "up on" the rifle as I fired away.

That was my first thought to try the rubber pad, but they all say they are for the pre-ban rifles, is this a legal thing or has anyone used one on a Romanian rifle without modifing it? that would be alot cheaper than a new stock set.

What they probably mean is that they won't fit on thumbhole stocked rifles. A recoil pad does not count as one of the imported parts on an AK, so you can add it no problem.
