Several AR owners have mentioned picking up an AK for the first time. (look at some of the recent threads) If you are looking for a FIRST CLASS TOP NOTCH AK variant, I would HIGHLY recommend you take a look at Wellco Arms in OH. He is a builder and an ARFcom member and makes TOP NOTCH stuff. He builds underfolders, side folders, fixed stocks, Krinks, AK pistols, etc etc etc Take a look at this ![]() I own a few of his products. I can't say enough good things. |

Has anyone been able to eyeball compare these underfolders to the Vectors? The price is quite a bit higher than the Vectors. I did not know if their quality was that much better. The difference from just looking at ads is Gunkote over park rather than just park, bayo, sling and drop pouch for the WellCo. Since the Vectors are gone for awhile and of course I missed the boat I am hoping to hear some opinions. TIA !!! |

I'll rattle his chain on the phone right now. He is probably in his dungeon building some more rifles. Greg is a good guy and up untill Christmas was at my place at least once a week procuring his own hand picked kits and accessories. Greg is as picky as I am. We both have given up on the "shows" so I doubt you will see him at the "locals" anymore. I will tell him to log-on and get his butt posting! |
If were not concerned with asthetics and looks does he make a moderate priced version of a 74. |
I should be getting my AK74 sidefolder from Wellco next week. I'll post pics, and if I get the chance to fire it right away, I'll let you guys know what happened. I'm no AK expert or anything, but I do recognize quality when I see it. Stay tuned! |
What you can do is ask him a question on one of his open auctions. I don't think he would mind too much being that you want to do business with him. I have gotten ahold of sellers using that method before. |

mr. wells is a friend of mine. he's always at bulletfest with a bunch of fast guns and he's a long time knob creek shooter and shopper. he's been an sot for years and knows his way around lots of weapon systems. he's a veteran, having served in vietnam and is a riot to share a drink with. |
