Several AR owners have mentioned picking up an AK for the first time. (look at some of the recent threads)

If you are looking for a FIRST CLASS TOP NOTCH AK variant, I would HIGHLY recommend you take a look at Wellco Arms in OH. He is a builder and an ARFcom member and makes TOP NOTCH stuff.

He builds underfolders, side folders, fixed stocks, Krinks, AK pistols, etc etc etc

Take a look at this

I own a few of his products. I can't say enough good things.

Looks like good stuff.

The paratrooper drop case is a really nice touch, I use one and it's pretty handy.

They are TOP notch. Made on OOW receivers but w/o the 'gap' that you get from others.

Anyone know where this guy is? I'm looking to have my MAK-90 parked and painted. If he's close to Columbiana County, OH, might check him out. Thanks.

I just bought a Bulgarian AK74 sidefolder from Wellco. Great people to deal with, and by everything I've heard, their work ranks right up there with the best. I'll post pics when I get mine. I CAN'T WAIT!

Has anyone been able to eyeball compare these underfolders to the Vectors?  The price is quite a bit higher than the Vectors.  I did not know if their quality was that much better.  The difference from just looking at ads is Gunkote over park rather than just park, bayo, sling and drop pouch for the WellCo.  Since the Vectors are gone for awhile and of course I missed the boat I am hoping to hear some opinions.  TIA !!!

I'll rattle his chain on the phone right now. He is probably in his dungeon building some more rifles. Greg is a good guy and up untill Christmas was at my place at least once a week procuring his own hand picked kits and accessories. Greg is as picky as I am.

We both have given up on the "shows" so I doubt you will see him at the "locals" anymore.

I will tell him to log-on and get his butt posting!

I have purchased an AK74 and an AK pistol from him and they are both awesome. His builds are really top notch. They are the best looking AKs I've seen personally.

If were not concerned with asthetics and looks does he make a moderate priced version of a 74.

His prices are in line with everyone elses pretty much but you also get more from him than you get from anyone else I have seen. He usually throws in a nice hard case, a few mags, mag pouch, sling, cleaning kit, stripper clips & charger and a paratrooper drop case. Good luck finding anyone else who does that and can meet or beat his prices and quality. I haven't been able to and I'm all over the net and at gun shows. It can't be done. I personally think that he puts out high quality throughout, not just aesthetically. His skill is reflected in his work and his service is second to none. For all that you get from Wellco, consider it less than moderately priced. I'm still blown away by the ones I bought from him. I mean it, their beautiful AKs! You gotta get one, you'll be very happy you did!

I should be getting my AK74 sidefolder from Wellco next week. I'll post pics, and if I get the chance to fire it right away, I'll let you guys know what happened. I'm no AK expert or anything, but I do recognize quality when I see it. Stay tuned!

Does any one have an email address for Dinkydow?  The underfolder he had sold on Gunbroker and the system won't let you message sellers after the auction has closed.  Tried the search and no hits.  TIA

What you can do is ask him a question on one of his open auctions. I don't think he would mind too much being that you want to do business with him.  I have gotten ahold of sellers using that method before.

I just bought that underfolder in the pic above on Monday . It should be a pretty sweet addition to my AK family ( I'll have 4 of them). This will be my 3rd buy from Wellco. I can't wait to get it. I will post pics of the updated family.

Thanks fellows.  I tried to find more of his auctions and could not get a hit.  If someone who has bought from him could email me his email I would appreciate it.  I wanted to see if he had anymore underfolders like blitzGR10 bought.  Get those pics posted bro !!

he's been an sot for years and knows his way around lots of weapon systems. he's a veteran, having served in vietnam and is a riot to share a drink with.
