New to the AK arena but what do you guys know about this rifle? Is it any good and what should they go for?

If used in the slow fire mode, it is capable of near MOA with the right ammo.  It is essentaily and enlongated RPK and not a true "Dragonov" design.

Paper thin barrel heats fast, so used as directed and you will have a great rifle.  Use as a blaster or battle rifle and it will not live up to your expectations.

Price should be in the $650 - $750 range.

Are magazines still tough to come by for these, or are they fairly readily available?

If you buy them in the (4) pack, you get (4) magazines and a pouch for about $100 + shipping.
Pretty much anyone selling the PSLs have this magazine "bundle" for sale.  This is the cheapest
way to buy the magazines.

It's hard to say.  When the supply dries up, it could happen.

The PSL AKA Romak III, FPK, SSG-97, etc. was not designed nor intended to be a "sniper"
rifle.  It was created to fill a role of  the designated marksman's rifle.
