Just to show some of you that WASR's can be a nice AK even though its not the most authentic. I took some pics of my work, first I refinished the gun with Duplicolor high heat engine paint then installed a Tapco G2 trigger group and then a Lever Romanian side folder and last filed down the mag well. All said and done I love this rifle and it suits every one of my needs in a basic AK and also looks fairly well. Takes all mags from Bulgarian waffles to drums and steel mags perfectly. Some of them are kind of blury so please forgive me for my novice digital camera skills

Repub18, How do you like that side folder? I am considering putting one on my WASR, however I have my reservations due to slight added weight and awkwardness when folded next to the safety and bolt. I sort of like the wood stock resting on my hip when firing from that location since it is so short. Have you found any benefits or detriments since installing it? |
I really like it, it locks up real tight when folded and it's solid when extented as well. The only downside is when you shoot it, it feels like a meat cleaver in your shoulder. |
you kidding that sucker only has about 250rds through it so far, i'll clean it when it gets to 750

Nice gun and good pics! Mag well looks a big big to me even for a double stacker, but hey you won't have problems inserting mags, right? Don't worry about authenticity. "Authenticity" is for Colt snobs, airsofters in foreign countries who will never get to see a live round of ammo, and other poor souls of various kinds, of which you should not be one. |
You think so?? Both steel and synthetic mags dont wobble in the well. |
