| It does look very nice. It's too bad Saiga receivers don't have the dimples. Also, since this guy probably spent quit a bit on his AK, you'd think he would have had the "S" and "F" removed from the receiver too. Maybe I'm just too anal about these types of things... |

here is his post About 9 or 10 weeks ago I sent Krebs a minto all matching 1977 Izhevsk Russian akms parts kit as well as a Saiga 7.62x39 rifle. I asked them to mate the akms parts to the Saiga receiver. I used the Saiga since it is also Russian and since they recommended it over an OOW in terms of quality (as I always say though, OOW is a fine receiver ). Plus I really wanted an all Russian weapon, minus the small us made compliance parts of course. The only downside to using the Saiga was that I could not keep the Izhevsk 1977 marked trunion on the rifle. They had to leave the original Saiga trunion with it's receiver. I don't mind this as I'd rather have a Russian receiver over a US receiver. As many of you know, they are swamped. I don't believe they are taking orders for a couple months. Sooo, I'm glad I got my order sent in early. The rifle came back today. I'm more than pleased. I have an ak74 from them on a Saiga receiver so this is the second time they've come through for me with literally and A++. I was so pleased I told Marc on the phone that I was going to take photos and post them for the fellas to see and to give him a good word. He and Brian...and also Scott who did the actual build for me answered ever question I had, whether it was email or phone. I've got a 7.62 Izhevsk bakelite coming in the mail....so it will replace the black Izhevsk that's on there now when it gets here. The first set of furniture is the looker set . The second darker set is the range set. |
