Hi there!

Since I got my Maadi, I decided that I really didn't need the MAK-90 any longer, and since my roommate's firearms got stolen from him, I made him a deal on it so he can start rebuilding his collection.

Was talking to him, and he thought it would be cool to put a folder on it.

Our question, however, is, what folding buttstocks for the AK will fit on a MAK-90 without having to replace the rear trunion?

Will that Romy side-folder (shown here:  www.k-var.com/product.asp?0=270&1=271&3=52) work?

What other options are there?

Romanian and East German side folders will both work, they look almost the same. EG folders use a lever, most Romanian folders use a button, but there are some new Romanian folders that use a lever too.

I think most places are sold out of EG folders BTW, so your best bet would be a Romanian.

ETA: You could also use an ACE folder or an AR stock adapter but IMO they both look silly on AK's.

The thicker sheet metal on the MAK-90 requires that you file the sides and bottom some.  Also, the rear screw hole on the MAK is further back which meant I had to oblong the rear hole to get it to work right.  Once you're done, it's good.
