How do you remove the rear sight leaf on an AK???

Have to raise the sight up almost all the way, then depress the leaf spring with a flat bladed screwdriver, then push down the rear sight, and kind of angle it back and forth out of there.  It helps if you have a few extra hands, and some thick leather chaps on so you don't stab yourself in the leg with the screwdriver.  Or you could just get a Campy Rear Sight Tool  The link also has a video showing removal.

EDIT : Just realized you said leaf - not rear sight.  It is my understanding, once you've got the rear sight off, you should be able to depress the leaf, and lever it out forward under the gas tube retaining pin.  I'm probably wrong though - never taken off the leaf spring for a rear sight on an AK.

Nope, it is the actual sight that has the nubers on it that I want to remove, not the base or spring.

Okay, rear sight removal - the first method described is what you need.  Also, watch this video.
