I was a victim of my own stupidity and purchased a MAK90 thinking i would change the stock and be happy. One of my buds sold it to me at a very low price. After the purchase, I soon learned that I would not be changing the stock out very easily due to the slant cut round hole routine. Of course everybody recommends IWD. So, I ordered a set. The fit of the particular set I received is crap. The cuts are very uneven where the buttstock meets the rcvr. The angles are completely wrong. It took (at least for my set) a ton of work to get the set to fit at all. I would not recommend purchasing from IWD unless you are moderately experienced in woodworking. I am not slamming Matt or IWD, because he did not custom fit to my rcvr. I just want to let people know that it takes some woodworking skill to get everything to fit. Of course there is still some sanding and staining left to do, but here is a pic of IWD wood installed for all those with the slant cut round hole disease.

Perhaps the problem stems from using a stamped buttstock on a milled rifle?

Perhaps. However, I ordered the MAK90 set from IWD and spoke to Matt personally to insure I was getting the right parts. The angles are close but not close enough.

In fact the stock is definately cut for the milled round hole and not the stamped.

bro, toss that stock and have an underfolder installed.

no matter how good the wood fitup to the steel, those things never look quite 'right'.

LOL...you are so right Campy. Something just does not look or feel right about it. Guess I will start looking for a smith in my area.

Well, you are just up the street from me.

We have Sledgehammer Arms, in Mansfield. He is who I plan on having do some parts swapping for me. I don't know if he is capable/comfortable doing a u-folder conversion though. I've been to his shop, and though I didn't see alot, what I did see looked good.

Nice guy too, BTW, he is somewhat popular over at Falfiles.

I suggest you shoot him an email, and ask.
