Are the Kobra scopes good?  I mean, do they hold a zero well?  Are they durable?  Any major faults?  Is there a better choice in that price range?
Thanks!!!

Tagged to see responses;  I have one but haven't used it much at all & I'm curious what the opinion of them is among the experts...

there certainly has been a 'flodding the market' of them this month.
NEver saw them in numbers until the ban ended for some reason.

I have a brand new one.  Works great, holds zero, and I have no complaints.

The Kobra, when coupled with a RSA trigger group, pretty much maxes the accuracy potential out of your AK.  For a red dot system on an AK, you can't beat it.

The Ultimak is pretty popular, but heats up real quick when dumping a mag or two real fast.  I didn't want that so I went with the Kobra.

All my other stuff was set before the AWB ended....my SAR1 won the race for next in line!

Thanks, Hokie!
Any suggestions about where to get the best deal on one?

I got mine through a guy named "Yuri" over at www.freedomoptics.com.  Service was great and I was very pleased.

There are a few other guys around that sell them too, might want to check them out.

Funny thing about the Kobra is that the controls are in friggin Russian!  So you'll have to use the brail method to dial the Kobra in!  But hey....that's what range time is all about!  What better way to spend a morning that deciphering a Russian optic!

Other people have different opinions about the Kobra, but I put my review on the +1 side!  Good luck!

I have one on an SAR-1 and another on an SAR-3.  I also have another SAR-1 with an Ultimak with a Bushnell Holosight on it.

Personally, the Kobpas are not bright enough for my liking.  I think I might take the Holosight off and put a Tacpoint on it and see how it holds up.

I used the Kobra for years, never any problems & loved it. It's my 2nd fav sight for the AK (I'm now a PK-AS fan...)

I have 3. I think they are about the best value on the market.

I have a KobraII on my AR15 (as weird as it sounds), consistantly shoot sub-MOA at 65 feet.

I've had mine for almost 2 years and love it. It holds zero well and the ability to change retical and brightness make it a deal. I got mine from Yuri too.

Me too although not a pretty picture but it works, and also one on each of my SAR's...

Enjoy a siderail and a weaver base model, darned happy from when they were under $150 and the PK options were not here. Still a nice value.

Wow - I never thought about it before, but that would be a natural on one of my 7.62x39mm ARs.  There'd just be something right about it...
