I am planning on buying a mak 90 this week, how is quality on these? Price is 295.00 plus tax. I have no experience with ak types , so school me please.

I love the MAK rifles. Much better than most of the AKs that come out on the market now adays.

If you don't want it, I'll take it at that price.

Is it milled or stamped? if its stamped, check for the slant cut in the back of the receiver. great price either way.

if its slant cut it may well be a underfolder reciever, look for a riveted in + shaped cover on the back of the reciever if its there, you have an underfolder ready MAK-90

They are nice. I paid $350 for mine. I'd buy another one for that price.

That's a great price. I bought mine many years ago for $289 but I haven't seen one that cheap in a long time. I think my MAK90 is better than my Maadi MISR.

Up here in Mass we get it tucked to us. The other day I went into a shop and saw a few bushies a4 types and all alone I saw an ak. I picked it up to get a better look at it. It has a folder on it, it is stamped Bayonet ground off muzzle thing seemed to have had some kind of grinding done to it. The side of the receiver said mak 90. The folder does fold. Is this a legal type rifle here? Oh yeah the price was somewhere around 1600.00. It was pretty beat.hinking.gif

@ $1,600 there's no point in asking about this rifle.

Walk away.

there isn't a mak90 made made that's worth more than $500.

If the MAK90 is a slant cut reciever without the underfolder mods already made, give it a pass at that price. Economically it will cost more than it is worth to get it into a proper configuration. I have one like that, I paid a good deal less than that price, so it will be reasonable to have an underfolder installed on it, if I don't end up trading it for a ready to go Romanian rifle.

Anybody interested in a trade?

I paid $350 for mine, but it came with half a dozen mags and a 1000 rounds of russian ammo. I love that little booger. I highly recommend one. Mine is a straight cut with the RPBUSA "krink" kit on it...looks cool, but the short, small aluminum stock is BRUTAL. I say stick with the original wood furniture.

I just got my CAR stock on mine today. I have mixed feelings. I kinda like it and I kind of hate it. Then again I have been spoiled with a nice long chaote dragunov stock with that comfy little rubber buttpad. The CAR stock is kinda small looking...and short. But different thats for sure.
