Do any of you all recommend using AK recoil buffers? I was thinking about installing them on mine but wanted to see if it really does help much.  I seen Tapco has them for 15$ are those of good quality?

Never tried one but I would order one from www.blackjackbuffers.com   Cheaper prices, supposedly the best buffers made..and shipping is cheaper if thats all you plan to order. He has a quiet a few accessories in stock also.

i'm not a big fan of the buffertech buffers. they cause short stroking malfs in som ak's.

the blackjack buffers, although i've never tried them, have a better reputation as far as affecting the reliability of the rifle goes.

my own thoughts on buffers are this...'if' mikhail kalashnikov and his team of designers would have thought it necessary to put a recoil buffer in his weapon, he/they certainly would have done so. i used to run buffers that i made myself, but i've long since concluded that they are a solution in search of a problem.

Ive got one in a 7.62 and a 5.45...I cant tell much if any difference in recoil...They do seem to make them cycle faster...IMO
