I havent fired the new krink I got from inrange yet, but took the firing pin out and was dry cycling it to see how it worked. Well it did fine for about 20-30 rounds, but then started mis-feeding every so often. Especially with a drum. I figured out that the tension pushing up on the carrier from the next round in the magazine was causing the piston to ride high in the gas tube and hit the top of the gas block thingee. I have attached pictures (but due to bandwidth limits, they might be red xs every now and then) Will it hurt to shave the carried some in the area's marked to relieve the tension on it, or is there some other fix I need to do instead????? This is what I think is happening, am I right, and what do I need to do to fix it.... Thanks for any suggestions or info....

Hmmm... while you may very well be right about the problem, on the other hand I'd be skeptical about any "malfunctions" that accure outside the actual firing of the gun.  It would be best in my opinion to give it a range test before deciding to do anything about it.

There seems to me to be a lot of differences in function while hand-operating a weapon and actual firing. It may be that it needs the extra force of actual gas pressure to operate reliably.

Before you start fixing anything make sure you have a problem, shoot it!AKs react differently to live ammo as opposed to hand cycling.

I will,  I was just anxious and the range is 40 miles away, so I was playing in my room :). I made sure of letting the bolt free fly back from extension without riding it home, but I agree shooting is the best way to figure it out. who knows, maybe it will lap in and work good. Thanks for the replys.

AK's cycle pretty vilently under live fire...., which is very hard to simulate buy hand cycling!!

I think you'll find that your Krink will funtion properly under live fire, and any minor missalignments will "find their groove" (break in) in no time!!!

Remember these are AK's...., not percision AR's

It took me a while to get in sink with that idea..., being as I'm an "AR" guy from way..., back!!

I hope you make it to the range quicker than with that 74 you have.

There is a modern machine know as the automobile.  It can travel great distances in a short time.

I hope it was with the krink.

RAK, do you live in a city or a suburban area?  Or do you only fire your guns at ranges?

Personally, I will can never see myself living anywhere but out in the country.  If I feel the urge to go shoot one of my firearms, I simply load up a mag, walk out the front, back, or side doors of my house, and blast away.  And the neighbors don't care!  Mostly because they are about 1 mile away.

Ditto on shooting the Krinkov.

I would be apprehensive about shaving/fitting anything....talk to InRange about any troubles you may be having.

I live in a city, but am in Mid Georgia, so open country isnt more than a 20 minute ride  away, but they frown on us shooting out there, seems every piece of property is owned by someone. Weve been chased off a few times, and I know if they come looking at us shooting ak's and ar's, pretty soon we will have deputys out there looking at them, as most assume its full auto just cause it looks it.
