Does anyone make a Slip-on Slant Muzzle Break for Post ban AK's?? Mine is a SAR-1 Also..., does a Slant break increase.., or reduce muzzle flash?? Thanks in advance! RU4FREEDOM --- out |

There are no slip on slant brakes. The brake does not affect muzzle flash. Remember that the purpose of any flash hider is to direct the muzzle flash away from the gunners eyes. A flash hider has nothing to do with trying to hide or reduce a muzzle flash. Just thought I'd throw that in there! |

Thanks..., and yes I did understand that "Flash Hiders" do not hide muzzle flash from the on looker, I just wanted to make sure the slanted break did not project more muzzle flash upwards into line of sight causing a more blinding flash to the gunner!! I guess a barrel thread adapter/break combo would be the best way to go! As far as I can tell.., this combo would be legal for a Post-Ban. RU4FREEDOM -- out |
Tell that to the people that own Vortex flash hiders. From what I read of their reports, the flash is GONE, not redirected. |
| The threaded slant brake is supposed to index with a plunger in the front sight base. When it is correctly installed, it is rotated about 40 degrees counter-clockwise. This helps counteract the rotational torque induced by the rifling and directs the flash to the right, away from the front sight. |

I have a Phantom on my m4 and the flash is gone. I haven't tried it at night, but compared to my old y-comp on a bushy this is now eliminated. I rented a barrell threader for my sar 1.($15) It took me 30 minutes to do. I'm not mechanically inclined at all. Let me say it again - I'm not mechinacally inclined at all. I purchased a slant break from Global trades for about 9 bucks. Here is where I went wrong. I had the local gun smith Silver solder the slant on. That cost me $30 bucks and was probably the simplest procedure out of any. So, get your self a mapp torch and syringe of silver solder and do it yourself. |
There is a guy on another site that rents the threaders for $15, 16 thru paypal, and you pay shipping back. www.gunsnet.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=170400&highlight=wjm%2A Haven't done it yet but plan on it soon. |

ORF has the slip on slant muzzle brakes. I saw them this weekend. They had a whole drawer full of them. www.ohiorapidfire.com or 937-332-0833 Ask for Mike. KF |
