I'm walking around at the VF gunshow today when I spot a guy with what appears to be an RPK slung over his shoulder. As I catch up to him on the aisle I ask him how much he wants for it.

He tells me $650 and goes into a long story about how this was a real RPK and a squad support weapon and how hard they are to find, and a long story about what he had to do to get this one, and how unique it was (check out the muzzle break), etc., etc.

I thanked for the story and wished him luck, then watched him start the story with another guy.

The funny part? Oh yeah. The rifle was an NHM-91 that I converted with a Russian laminate stock set, custom handguards to match, and the chinese RPK muzzle brake. I had sold the rifle last September to some guy at this same gunshow. No BS story when I sold it; and I sold it for the same $650 the guy was asking without having to invent any BS. The guy who bought it from me was a NJ resident, so it was actually transfered by an FFL dealer friend of mine. The guy trying to sell it was not the guy that bought it from me.

Just thought it was funny to see my own handiwork being presented as an 'authentic' RPK.  And no, I didn't correct the guy. Probably should have offered him $400 for it, or asked him if wanted to buy a set of Boyds furniture for it.
