Several months back, someone posted pics and instructions for modifying the safety selector  with a groove cut into it so that when the bolt was pulled back and the selector pushed up it would lock the bolt open.
Tried doing a search but nothing came up. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I even remember a board member selling them with the mod already.
Anyone have any pics or a link?

i forget who was selling those.

they are easy to make. just draw the charging handle and allow it to go back forward about 1/8". scribe a line in front of and behind the lever.

use a file or dremel tool to cut a 1/4" deep notch in the selector lever. deepen the notch untill it clears the charging handle by 1/32" with the selector lever fuly raised.

Campy
Is this something that you yourself would recommend? Seems to me it would be a good idea to help cool off a hot barrel by being able to lock open the bolt.
Thanks

Shoving a stick/range flag in the port lets a breeze thru also, without creating another irregular edge on the gun.

If your ak of choice is an SAR1, pull the charging handle all the way back, hold it, pull the trigger, hold it, and slowly let the bolt go forward.  It locks.  To release, pull the charging handle a bit, and let it go.

Blackjack of Blackjack Buffers as making those.
I don't care for the trigger method. Something just doesn't seem right that way or secure.

I do have an SAR 1 and if you do pull the bolt back and let it go slowly it will stick open, but it is not very secure. Would rather it lock open.

Thanks for the replies guys and the link.
