I have seen some pics of AKs w/ vertical foregrips and I was wondering who sells handguards like this and where can I get them? Is there different kinds of grips to get or is there an attachment point(picatinny?) Those of you with them, do you find them useful? Thanks, Arndog |

What about the handguards at RPB? www.rpbusa.com/ak.html They say that they have a picatinny rail, but where is it located? On top of the handguards or under? Both maybe? Thanks, Arndog |
I haven't seen the ones at rpbusa.com either. Here is what mine look's like...it similar to an AR set up, except the side rails are detachable. The rails will accept any standard hangaurd that would fit an AR. The one on my AK is was actually lent to it by my AR for the pic, until the AK can save up enough money to buy it's own. I added more detail pictures on the EE. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=198699&w=myTopicPop |
Thanks ARndog. The rails, as is the entire unit, are made of extremely hard mil.spec plastic composite. I have a Fobus M44 on my AR; the TDI guard is harder. Holding the rifle by the the foregrip results in no movement, bending, or flexing of the handguard. |
Yea...took me a while to get used to it on mine... can't quite change mags out as quickly, but then again, I was never that quick with mag changes on the AK to begin with. For me, the improved shooting ergonomics is worth it. |
Glock40cal, are you refering the to pic of my AK up above? The maker is TDI. My FFL friend got a hold of some for me... I have a couple left. If you're interested check out my add in the EE. Here is the link: www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=198699 Thanks. |
