been taking a hard look at building a compliant amd 65 but was wondering about that metal hand guard. how hot does that thing get? will a thirty round mag interfere with the vertical grip?

the magazine can be inserted and removed easily...thus the forward angle to the front grip.

yes, the handguard makes a nice bbq grill after several mags.

They all get hot after a few mags. But the openness around the bbl should let them cool off faster.
Nothing seems to insulate better than the Bulgy polymer with heat sheilds.
