Found a Polytech in a local shop today. marked AK47/S Beijing China Its got a 386 in an oval.Threaded Barrel.Looks to be in excellent condition. Wants $1500.00 Any body?

Way overpriced.

I would not give more than $1000-$1100

But you would really have to twist my arm to buy a preban right now....considering the 94 AWB is set to sunset in September 2004.......

Offer him $600-$700 and if he accepts, buy it. You can't beat a Chinese AK.......

milled or stamped? fixed or folder?

unless it's a legend u-folder, new in box w/all acessories...it's priced too high.

Unless it is an underfolder,I would pass at that price.Fixed stock ak's are a dime a doz.

If it sunsets, I dont think that applies to chinese guns.

Thats why I think they will hold there high price and I want to get one.

Fixed stock AKs are the best ones to convert to sidefolders. Experience with a Postban 7.62 Underfolder (fixed position) Krinkov has left me with a "teeth rattling" experience every time I pull the metal stock to my cheek. If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten the sidefolder kit from KVAR instead.

Anyway, any underfolder will be near impossible and very expensive to retrofit as a sidefolder due to the large hole for the underfolder latch mechanism in the rear trunnion.....
