Okay, time for all you history buffs to chime in..... My neighbor has a 7.62 Chinese AK with GSAD on the receiver, and a low serial number on the trunnion. It has a deep blued finish, spike bayonet, spring loaded firing pin, and nicely finished wood..... I know it's a preban, but what is the history of this rifle? I heard (don't laugh, I'm only repeating what I was told) that Ted Nugent was somehow associated with the importation of these rifles through Golden State Arms..... Talk to me.... KF |

Well...ugh...huh? I a.....ur...dunno...about Gonzo, but they do have an interesting past. GSAD was a huge West Coast Importer in Manhattan Beach CA (they are now defunct and a race car enterprise occupies their facility). They made their claim to fame on importing bolt action ex-military rifles(mostly Enfields, starting in the late 50's thru about 89). I will have to find the story, but the gentleman had ties to InterArms, the CIA, and supposedly supplied the arms for the Bay of Pigs invasion. BTW, that is a PolyTech Rifle, S/B marked 386 somewhere.... I picked up a folder a couple months back and did some research. Mine has very little markings on it, and NO factory markings. The PolyTech link is nice for somethings, but they are out of the good stuff, might try RPB Industries, they have some. Sure wish Crazy Ivanho was around! (this is OLD contact info, like I said a race car facility is now at this address) Golden State Arms Dist. Inc. 630 Mary Ann Drive Redondo Beach, CA 90278 213-374-4086 lemme go look thru my shit.......will have to do it tonight, the f$cking firewall at work has all my good links blocked Hey!...shoot some pics of that! I have had more than one argument that Keng's wasn't the sole importer of Poly Rifles. |
