I am looking to modify my SA85, I want to install the new AK-142B Bulgarian Front Sight Block & Gas Chamber combination, but I don't know which one to get. is the KR-008B KRINKOV FRONT SIGHT Block Assy or the AK-142B Bulgarian Front Sight Block & Gas Chamber combination

www.k-varcorp.com/frontsightblock.html

I plan on cutting off the front flash hider thread, but I like to cut the barrel to 14.5 and install a AK74 style muzzle brake on it.  what is the thread pitch on the brake and where can I find a true replica of the brake??

I am looking to install the UltiMAK top cover so I can add my Trijicon Reflex tot he gun also.

Last question, where can I find the steel FSE fixed Krinkov buttstock??

Is any of the conversion I am doing possible and will there be any conflicts??

Any and all help is greatly appreicated.

RPB(rpbusa.net) sells the FSE stock.I'd link it but I'm tired of guarding my home with an AK all night.

Can't say for sure which fsb /brake combo you need--I'd check with Chris at AK-103.com

if you are doing up a pmds, my advice is as follows:

by the genuine commie left side folding triangular buttstock. even if just doing up an sbr or faux-sbr, the commie stock is more authentic and better looking than the krink fixed stock from fse.

k-var is now selling complete russian ak-103, 104 and 105 front ends for $320-330. although a tad pricey, the front end swap will save you time and money.

your original plan sounds good to go, also. like wes said, rpb has the fse parts and ak-103/ak-usa has the gas block/sight block combo (ala ak-103/104/105 series).

if reworking the rifle, this is an ideal time to add a com-bloc optic mounting rail. imo, it's a much better option than the ultimak.

Thanks very much for your advise.  I will looking the options.

Two more question, if i got the 103 option, isn't that in the 5.45??  a caliber change will involved my bolt carrier also??

Ultimax rail is not a good option because??  I have a spare Reflex, that is why i was thinking the Ultimax rail.

Again, thanks Bob, and Wes for the awesome replies.

If you intend to keep this rifle 7.62x39 then you need the AK-104.

AK-103 is a 7.62x39 AK that looks exactly like an AK-74 except for the caliber.

The AK-102, 104 and 105 are the shorter models.
AK-102 = 5.56mm
AK-104 = 7.62mm
AK-105 = 5.45mm

OBTW, the FSE Krink non-folder is aluminum, pretty sturdy stock and you dont have to carve up your receiver to mount it.

What method will you use to insure that the cover stays rock solid in relationship to the receiver??
