| Does anyone know how to 'square' an optic rail so the scope mounts more or less in line with the bore? I've noticed that the rail on my SAR-1 isn't parallel to the top of the receiver, but the weaver mount lines up correctly so I'm assuming that the slope of the rail is correct. How do I install one on my Poly 5.56 without screwing something up? |

Does anyone know how to 'square' an optic rail so the scope mounts more or less in line with the bore? yup...i do. use the depth gage rod on a dial caliper and align the top of the optic rail with the top of your receiver. you need not be ultra-accurate...within .005-.10" is fine. commie scope has massive ammounts of elevation correction built into them. I've noticed that the rail on my SAR-1 isn't parallel to the top of the receiver,... it should be! the bbl. and trunnion and receiver top should all lie in one plane. there is no doubt that most kitchen table builders take more pains to build an ak than the romanians. |
