Glad you had a good time with your family. The last (and only) time I was there was with my dad when I was 5. I didn't understand English very well, and the tour guide made a comment to the point of saying he was going to turn off the lights and you could hear how perfectly quiet it was. Being young and bad at the language, I thought he said he was going to blow up the cave. When he turned out the lights all you couls hear was me screaming at the top of my lungs. Hope your child made your tip better than I did for my dad. BTW, Mamouth Cave and near by Old Mans cave have now been linked together, making it the largest known cave complx in the world. |

speaking of mamouth...what big arms you have! <campy makes mental note never to piss off stokes> i was about her age when i went thru the cave. my dad must have had a thing for caves...our family went thru several in ohio, then headed south to check out some of the really big ones. you have a cute daughter! i'll bet she loved the trip. |

I wish I could wrestle, done it before and I liked it... My arms are a whole lot smaller than they use to be. I use to be around 22" now I'm just getting back into steadly working out after a long layoff do to injuring my back (lifting weights) I think right now I'm almost 20"... but thanks for the complements,, I'm more interest in getting back into the competition circuit right now either bench or body building in general.. I use to hold the State bench record a couple of years ago for my body wieght class.. My little girl loved the trip,,,She even like that part in the cave when they cut all the lights out.. there were a couple of kids that did not appreciate it...LOL But she is pretty stout and has very little fear of stuff like that.. The only thing that really scared her is when a Emu.. got after use at Ky down under. He was after the straps hangin off my Hydro pack.. She didn't like that big bird...lol |

man, to bad my friend, george prokopovich, got injured...he held several state records. at one time he held 3 collegiate records simultaneously! you and george problably both smile at 500 lbs! btw, i wish you could see the 1972 college yearbook's pic of the powerlifting squad. yeah...i was on it. the pic shows 10-12 pumped up, bulked up dudes...and one skinny hippie that weighed 144 lbs! lol! i had just returned to school after a near fatal car crash and was weak as a newborn lamb. i just started lifting a couple weeks before the photog came in to take the group pic for the yearbook. i look as if i was the statistician! |
| Great pic Stokes. Where do you train or lift weights at ?? A gym in Dublin?? My bro just turned 40 and has been lifting most of his life.Did you Know Bob Maviss. The last name is misspelled. It seems I have heard that name before. It sounds very familiar. I work out in Dublin at the gym here.. We have a pretty nice privately owned facility...Have you heard if the range improvements are complete yet? I got to pay my dues next week so we can get together an shoot one day.. |
| Yeah the range is open again. I went last wensday and friday.Don't forget to have the correct combo for the lock on ya. I like to have messed up .Lucky for me it was written on my new membership card.Just out of couriosity, have you ever shot at the range just outside of Dublin.I went with a friend that is a memeber a couple of years ago. It was about a mile down this dirt road on the south side of Dublin( I think ). It had skeet, sportman clays, pistol and a 300 yd rifle range. Cheers WarDawg |
LOL... CAMPY I was all of 145lbs.. soaking wet in highschool. I was built and strong, but not much bodyweight or mass.. Even now I hang at 200/210lbs.. on average. Due to being vertically challanged... |
When I first moved here I tried to get in touch with someone about joining that range here in Dublin and the folks I talked with gave me the impression of not knowing or not wanting to give me any info on joining like it was some big secret society or something... that was the impression that was left.. So I met up with Billrube, and Timbo40 , 7.62x54r and a couple of others that frequent marion road club and joined there... |
