I think my wife's getting me one for my birthday. It's going into a SAR-3. How good is it? Is it possible to get a trigger pull as light and crisp as a 4lb. tuned 1911? |
Giving serious thought to doing the same thing myself. I own 2 Colts that are safe queens and there are some AK niches that need to be filled. |

Orginally Posted By Wave: It's the reason I got rid of my AR-15's I've purchased a SAR1 myself and in her first 1000 rounds of el cheapo wolf she's not skipped a beat. It's bump fired at a good 750+rpm ( found a lil secret to that) and been fairly accurate. I'll NEVER give up my AR's for an AK tho.... are you guys feeling okay??? |
Just my personal preference. I "like" the AK better. |

Count me in with the "Had 2 AR's and sold them" group. Have an SLR with RSA trigger and Aimpoint sight now. community.webshots.com/photo/24828162/62050373WGQbTj |
Sounds beautiful. Does someone sell the K-Var stocks and handguards as seperate items? I don't want their pistol grip, so I was trying to find a better price by just buying the parts I wanted. And, aren't the Bulgarian handguards the one's that K-Var copied? If not, what do they look like? If so, why not just use the K-Var ones? Excuse my ignorance. |

READ MY LIPS! The standard Red Star Arms Hammer will NOT work in an SAR-3. Neither will any other 7.62/5.45 AK hammer. I hope you specified the set for the SAR-3 or you will be sending them back. Red Star makes a Hammer with the correct geometry for the SAR-3 but you have to ASK for it! |
Really there is no comparsion. The RSA parts are hand polished and are ajustable for creep, over travel, pull. One-stage or two-stage. The trigger set is as crisp as any I have tried incluing custom Southgate produced Weatherby's and match grade AR groups. |
