a local company, the belmont stamping company, normally makes approximately 1800 steel casket liners a year. these are used, primarily, to line caskets with and ship bodies in.

they are currently busting ass and working overtime. each liner bottom tales about 1-1/2 hours to fabricate...the lids take about 6 minutes.

the small company (under 15 employees) is working long hours to build 600 casket liners...in under 7 weeks...for the department of defense...

i hope those things stay in storage for a long time!!! god bless america!

Unfortunatly that is a part of war you can not avoid. We will loose American lives, period. That said, I would much rather have the soldiers come home in a nice casket than a bag.

It may not be the glamorous part of war, but its the least that can be done for someone who has received the worst.
